본 연구실에서는 차세대 청정 에너지 중 가장 유망한 태양광 에너지와 관련된 디바이스에 대해 연구하고 있습니다. 특히 나노/마이크로 기술을 이용하여 기존의 반도체 물질이 가지지 못하는 물리적 특성을 구현하는 새로운 개념의 태양전지에 대해 연구하고 있습니다. 대표적으로, 불투명하고 딱딱한 결정질 실리콘 웨이퍼를 이용하여 1) 투명태양전지, 2) 고효율 및 저가형 플렉시블 태양전지를 개발하였습니다. 이는 결정질 실리콘은 투명하고 유연할 수 없다는 고정관념을 깬 연구로 각광받고 있습니다. 이외에도 3) 에너지 저장 소자와 융합된 무전원 일체형 시스템 및 4) 태양광 기반의 살균 시스템 등을 개발하고 있습니다.
Our laboratory currently focuses on the development of solar energy devices. In particular, we are studying novel concepts of solar cells using nano/micro-technology to realize the physical phenomena that have not been observed in bulk materials. Typically, we have developed 1) neutral-colored crystalline silicon (c-Si) transparent solar cells and 2) cost-effective high-efficiency flexible c-Si solar cells. These topics are the breakthrough research to overcome the stereotype that c-Si cannot be transparent and flexible. We have also demonstrated 3) monolithic PV-Battery hybrid devices for the continuous power system, and 4) light-induced disinfection system.
