미래 차세대 소형원자로 (SMR) 및 핵융합로 액체금속 냉각재 전자기 펌프 (전자기 RCP), 희귀 동위원소 발견을 위한 가속기 빔의 리튬 표적용 전자기 펌프, 금속 주조 산업 전자기 펌프 시스템을 개발합니다.
The research is focused on the deveopmemt of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) pump system for the liquid metal cooled SMR, nuclear fusion reactor, lithium target material for accelerator beam and metal foundary industry.
· 환경 방사선 안전 및 원전 해체(Environmental Radiation Safety and Nuclear Decommissioning)
원전밀집 최고 국가인 우리나라의 환경 방사선 분포 신속 감시 기술을 개발하고 원전 사고 환경에서의 선량평가, 안전한 원전 해체를 위한 실시간 방사선 분석 등 원자력시설 해체 현장, 부지 및 지하수 방사선 모니터링 기술을 개발합니다. 방사능 방재 주민 대피 방사선 모니터링 시스템, 원전 해체 시 발생하는 슬러지 방사성폐기물 처리, 폐수지 혼합폐기물 처리 및 방사성 탄소 재활용, 블록체인 기반의 방사성폐기물 관리 기술, 방사성폐기물 난분석 핵종 분석 기술 고도화 등에 대하여 연구합니다.
The research covers the establishment of the environmental radiation monitoring system around nuclear installations and radiation monitoring system for the public in emergency preparedness and response. The main interest is concerned with radiation monitoring and radioactivity analysis of the radioactive wastes from nuclear power plants. The D&D technology for the environmental restoration of the dismantled nuclear power plant site is developed.

The research is focused on the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) analysis and experimental characterization for the electromagnetic liquid metal flow system in fast reactor. The MHD pump is developed to transport lead-bismuth coolant for micro nuclear reactor and lithium target material for accelerator beam.
