Sustainable Urban Planning and Design Lab

도시가 당면하고 있는 문제들은 끊임없이 변화하고 있으며, 이에 대한 해결방안 역시 매우 다양한 방식으로 이루어 질 수 있습니다. 과거에는 주택부족, 교통체증, 환경오염 등 전형적인 도시화 문제를 해결하는 것이 도시계획가의 주요한 역할이었습니다. 최근 우리도시는 기후변화, 도시재생, 도시안전, 에너지고갈 등 새로운 도시문제들을 직면하고 있으며, 이에 당면 문제들을 해결하기 위한 도시계획가의 역할은 더욱 중요해지고 있습니다.

지속가능 도시계획 연구실 (Sustainable Urban Planning and design Lab)은 우리 도시가 갖고 있는 물리적인 문제들을 진단 평가하고 이를 완화하기 위한 방법을 고민하고 있는 사람들의 연구집단입니다.

과학적이고 계량적인 방식으로 도시현상과 문제들을 분석하고, 최종적으로 지속가능하고 안전한 도시환경을 조성하기 위한 정책을 제안하는 연구를 수행합니다.

The challenges faced by cities are constantly evolving, and solutions can be approached in diverse ways. In the past, the primary role of urban planners was to address typical urbanization issues such as housing shortages, traffic congestion, and environmental pollution. Today, however, our cities are confronted with new and pressing challenges, including climate change, urban regeneration, public safety, and energy depletion. As a result, the role of urban planners in addressing these issues has become increasingly critical.

The Sustainable Urban Planning and Design Lab is a research group dedicated to diagnosing and evaluating the physical problems cities face and exploring strategies to mitigate them.

We conduct research that analyzes urban phenomena and problems through scientific and quantitative methods, with the ultimate goal of proposing policies that foster sustainable and safe urban environments.
