Lab. of Neuroimmunology

The Neuroimmunology laboratory is dedicated to understanding the unique characteristics of the immune system within the central nervous system (CNS). We aim to uncover the immunological mechanisms underlying the development of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, as well as CNS-related autoimmune disorder. Our research primarily focuses on CNS-resident innate immune cells, particularly microglia and border-associated macrophages (BAMs), which are main macrophage populations in the CNS. In addition, we are interested in antigen-presenting cells in the CNS that serve as a bridge between innate and adaptive immunity.
