고분자나노복합소재 및 탄소섬유 연구실

PnC Laboratory

PnC lab의 주요 연구분야는 나노탄소(탄소나노튜브, 그래핀 등)와 다양한 나노필러 등을 이용하여 높은 기계적물성과 기능성을 가지는 고분자나노복합소재를 개발하고 극한환경에서 이용할 수 있는 기계적물성을 가지는 차세대 탄소섬유를 개발하는데 초점이 있다. 나노복합소재 물성향상은 단순하게 나노필러를 포함시키는 방법이 아닌 나노필러와 계면의 고분자 간에 상호작용을 화학적/물리적 방법을 이용하여 최대한 도출하여 새로운 특성을 가지는 소재를 개발하고자 한다. 또한 기계적물성의 향상 외에도 기능성 소재를 개발, 에너지 전환/저장 소재 분야로 연구를 확장해 나가고 있다.
Polymer Nano-composites and Carbon fiber (PnC) lab focus its attention on understanding nano- and/or micro-structure of polymer-based nano-composite materials and manipulating them to tailor and enhance the resulting material properties. In addition, we are actively working on development of next generation Carbon Fiber based on the thorough comprehension of aforementioned polymer-based materials. The interdisciplinary research topic of our laboratory includes polymer chemistry, physics, and processing. Our specialty on carbonaceous material may also contributes to various research fields such as extreme environment structural materials, energy storage, energy conversion, sensing, etc.
